How to add a sender of a spam mail to the blocked list?

Hi folks,

I tried to search this forum as well as the help file of NIS 2010 but I couldn't get a clear reply. So please forgive me if I overlooked it somewhere.

I am using outlook 2007 and when receiving a mail which is automatically classified by NIS as a spam and thus it is placed into outlook's spam folder, I can't figure out how to add the mail sender to the blocked list. It doesn't give me a choice to do that. However when a mail comes to my inbox and I manually reclassify that mail as a spam then I am prompted to add its sender to the blocked list, that's OK. But I would like to have a chance to add an entry to the blocked list even if NIS decides on its own to put a mail into spam folder. Yes I can do it manually, i.e. open Norton Antispam -> Blocked list and there to write sender's mail and to add it to the blocked but it is quite inconvenient. I would like to be rather prompted by NIS to do that instead of me like NIS does when I manually reclassify a mail. Am I missing something?

Thx,

pegas

Hi pegas,

I think you can configure NIS to pop up a prompt box; please read Wally's post over here, maybe it will help:

Thx but it wasn't of much help because the  thread explains the procedure when you receive a mail into your INBOX and then you reclassify that mail as a spam thus moving to the spam folder. HOWEVER my question pointed to the situation when NIS 2010 itself puts a mail into spam folder automatically. In this case I am not prompted to add sender to the blocked. Everything works for me like Wally has posted but only in case I reclassify the received mail as a spam. Sorry for my bad english it is not my native language but I am trying to explain that I am not prompted to add sender to the blocked WHEN NIS places the received mail into spam folder automatically.

Hi pegas

NIS 2010 Antispam doesn't have this option (Prompt to add Sender's Email id from the Spam folder to the Blocked List).

As you said, the prompt appears only while reclassification.

However, this feature will be considered for implementation in the future releases

Thanks

Kavitha

Thx for information. I am glad that my NIS works how it is supposed to. However I am casting my vote for implementation of the said feature into future releases. I think it has a sense to be prompted to add a sender to the blocked list even if NIS itself put a message to the spam folder.
