Getting new Windows 10 PC, when I transfer files and setup from old computer using PCmover software, how do I assign the existing sets to the new computer so that Norton 360 does not do a completely new backup?
I have not been able to figure this one out. There does not seem to be a way to import the backup set and settings to a new computer, or even a clean reinstall of 360.
What you can do from the new 360 installation on your new system, ( you did do a fresh install of 360 ), is to start a restore from the Backup section. In the From section of the restore you can choose the online cloud backup. Then you can restore all the files to the new computer, either to their original locations, or to a temporary folder on the new system. Once you are sure the files are where you want them, you can set up your new backup set for the new computer.
Once you have the new backup done, log into your Norton Account and click on the Cloud backup pillar. Look for the old backup set and click on the trash can beside that to clear the storage space for your new backups.
