Norton recently took it upon themselves to update my NIS software, which had been working fine for the better part of a decade, to Norton Security, v22.20.2.57. Now, when automatic update runs, it leaves a desktop icon and a Start menu folder. I don't want either of these, and I don't want to have to delete them every time NIS updates. How can I disable this?
OK, I chatted with support online and the answer is, Norton creates a desktop icon and new Start menu folder when the program is updated. There isn’t a way to disable this.
