How to disable NIS 21.1.0.18 during Upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

How can I disable NIS 21.1.0.18 during the Upgrade from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8.1 Pro, until the upgrade process is done.

 

Second question:

is NIS 21.1.0.18 working fine under Windows 8.1 Pro  (32 bit)

If you need an extra advice, I would recommend because the OS is to be upgraded to uninstall NIS via Add or remove programs , REBOOT and start the new installation

Just a quick note to add that when I mention in my previous post "start the new installation", I mean start the new installation/upgrade on Windows 8.1.

When all is done then you can continue with a fresh installation of NIS.

 Answer: Not neccessary. I have upgraded without Disable latest N360 21.1.0.18 without any problem.

 

Second question:

is NIS 21.1.0.18 working fine under Windows 8.1 Pro  (32 bit)

Answer: It works fine except Norton Vulnerability Protection for IE11 and Norton/Symantec is looking into it.

Don’t have to. Upgrade works fine with NIS runing.

Until now I can't upgrade W8Pro w.MC to W8.1Pro w.MC I get always errors and it roll back the previous W8Pro w.MC

Now I get the answer ffrom The Microsoft forum as well from a Chat with Microsoft that I need uninstall NIS and that disabling via msconfig is not enough !

How do I best the uninstall of NIS 21.1.0.18

- via W8 uninstall programs or

- via a Norton removal tool and in this case where can I download it for NIS 21.1.0.18

I have upgraded to windows 8.1 Pro without even disabling NIS/N360 without any problem or error.

Hi. 

  You can install Norton from the Control Panel >>> Program and Features. Select Norton Internet Security and perform the onscreen instructions. In order to reinstall Norton you need to login onto the Norton Account : https://www.mynortonaccount.com. Enter your Norton Account Email and password.

Hi,

 

Looks like your system is completely messed.

Either reinstall the entire OS or stay with the answers.microsoft forum which I doubt that will be of any help.
