How to disable Norton "Action Required" pop up

Hello

On my computer I have installed NIS 2011 and I got a nasty virus named "Boot.Tidserv". I have already searched some on the internet how to solve and they say it's in my MBR, so difficult to remove. I don't care because it doesn't bother me and the computer is just working fine without any sympthoms of a nasty virus.

However everytime Norton comes up as a repeating pain in the **bleep** with a  "Action Required" popup with the 2 threats found both called "Boot.Tidserv". It says: Scan Again* or when I click: Ask for help. I have translated this from my Dutch version of NIS so I don't know whether the translation is right in the English version. When I click "Apply" it just goes some kind of busy working and says some time later cannot solve and the pop up gets back in it's original state. When I click cancel it goes away but ~20 minutes later when I'm in a game it just jumps back to try to annoy me again.

So my question is how can I disable this popup for these 2 repeating threads? I just want to a kind of exclude these 2 from the action required pop up and I still want to get an action required pop up for upcoming threads in future.

Thanks for helping,

You need to cure the MBR of this Bootkit

You will be wondering why you didn't cure it if you find passwords and data has been taken and used etc. (no money in the back account. Or it downloads more Malware at some point.

There is no way to disable the Norton popup, as as the PC is still infected you will keep getting them.

Thank you for your reply.

I think I then need to find something to solve the virus. I'll will do some further research.

TDSSkiller  http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684  You can click on the "TDSSKiller.exe" on that page to download the .exe version

Hopefully it's not a new version of TDL4, TDSSkiller should detect the MBR then automatically be selected to cure.

After TDSSkiller cures the MBR you will have to go into Nortons history Unresolved Threats list and click the clear entries button.

Boot.Tidserv is the TDL4 version of TDSS
