Hi Mike_52,

Are you saying that the Norton Product was on the same CD as the Operating System?

By any chance did you have to register your Norton Product?  If you created a Norton account you should be able to access your activation key here.

<< I recently bought a laptop with Vista pre-installed. ..... The Vista has NIS 2007 running on it  >>

Check the specifications for your laptop -- they often come with a trial version of products like NIS -- so there may not be a KEY. When the trial period runs out then you have to buy a copy.

I'm puzzled -- you say you recently bought the machine but it has NIS2007 on it? NIS2008 is the current version although NIS 2009 is due to be released this month (and if you have just purchased NIS2008, do not worry you get a free upgrade for the balance of your subscription period).

If you need more help, please post the make and exact full model ID and country of purchase and I may be able to check things for you if you don't have a detailed specification.

Yes, I noticed NIS2007 installed but am not sure whether it's a trial version or not. I'll need to check with the distributor of my MSI PR200 laptop on this.

Thanks

Hi,

My new laptop is from MSI and is a model PR200. It came with pre-installed Vista. I am from Singapore.

I've sent an email to MSI support and awaiting their response.

Thanks

Okay Guys,

I got the response from MSI support. The pre-installed Vista came with trial Norton 2007.

Thanks to all who have responded.

Cheers

Mike

If you are going to download a copy of NIS2008 – or 2009 if it is out by the time you need it – I suggest you make sure you download it from the Norton website that serves Singapore, rather than from one we users may post here.

Hello,

I suggest you use the latest NIS 2009 product. I know your laptop has NIS2007 running on it. Is that 90 days trial ? You can download the latest product NAV 2009 with 90 days trial at Microsoft website. It is much better that NIS2007. NIS 2007 or NIS2008 with 90 days trial are available for download. I cannot post the address here because the address will be edited and change to the normal download page. If you need the address, Private Message me. :-)
