How to get website removed from Norton Safe Web?

Hello,

I am trying to get my website's Norton rating removed, as the rating is over 1.5 years old.

I tried to do it via www.norton.com/fp, and I was told the following on two seperate occassions:

The Symantec Security Response team has reviewed your recent submission to the False Positive Phish Webpage form. Your submission appears to be for a Symantec product offering other than anti-fraud

As your submitted request is not a phishing web site false positive, we can not perform any further research on your submission. For specific product issues you can contact our Technical Support team by going to http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/selectproduct_ts.jsp and selecting your product and version. From there, you can explore top issues, search the solutions library, or contact technical support directly. Instant Online Chat support is available free of charge with little to no wait time and is available 24x7.

You may also be able to find further information regarding your issue by discussing it with our Norton community if the problem persists: http://community.norton.com.

Regards,
Symantec Security Response

I then created a Norton SafeWeb account but could not follow the instructions here: https://safeweb.norton.com/help/site_owners?ticket=ST-P9ZC0oZV5YCHUfsNEWhO-cas2 :

Getting started with Norton Safe Web

To submit your site for rating, re-evaluation, or to appeal the rating of your site, you need to create a Norton Safe Web account and verify the ownership of your site. Follow these steps:
Signup for an account with Norton Safe Web if you haven't already done so.
On the "site dispute" tab of your profile page, click the "Add site" link and enter your Web site address. (Check out the Web site registration tips for more information.)
You will receive an email on successful registration of your Web site. Please follow the instructions in the email carefully. Alternatively the site verification instructions will also be displayed on the "site dispute" page.
Once you have completed the site verification steps, click "Verify Now" (next to your Web site name) to establish ownership. You need to have your site ownership verified in order to submit your site to be rated. Please visit the Web site ownership verification tips for more information about this process.

because there does not appear to be a "Site Dispute" tab.

I have spent over an hour and half trynig to fix a problem I did not cause, which is very frustrating.  How do I get this resovled?  Does Norton Safe Web ever go back to *automatically* review previous ratings or does it assume that a site is dangerous inperpituity?

Hello WhyMustiDoThis

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum.

I am sorry to hear about your problems concerning your rating  of your website. We will try and get this resolved for you. As a first step, can you please give us your website?

Once we  have that information, we can submit your problem to the Safe Web team. Thanks.

Hello, can I submit my website to you in a private message?

Hi WhyMustIDoThis

Kindly provide us with your site name (through a private message), so that we will be able to assist you further.

Can you tell me how to do this?  I do not see a link to send a private message.

Click the user's name. On the page that loads, there should be a link at the right under Contact "Send this user a private message"

This is now resolved.  Thank you.  Once question, why do the Norton servers not go back and verify that the data they are presenting is correct?  This seems like a lot of end user work (for me), when the system should either automatically recheck sites on a routine (every 3 - 6 months) basis or have a simple "one click" rescanning button available from the safeweb website.

Your best bet is toi get rid of Norton.  You did not get any help from theem becase they are mostly scammers that gather private information form your computer and then e-mail you to no end to sell you more of their stuff. Some people compare Norton programs to real viruses. Getting rid of Norton will make your computer run much faster too. Less spying, more work, that helps.

Hi jalilo
