Need help in removing dead installs from my account. These are my historical NIS 2011 installs in chronological order: PC 1: My homebuilt Vista Ult. x86 tower PC. Currently active & in use. Legitimate NIS 2011 install. PC 2: Wife’s Dell XP Home laptop. Was a legitimate NIS 2011 install until sudden hard disk failure. PC 2 needs to be removed from my valid installs list. PC 3: Wife’s same (PC 2) Dell XP Home laptop. Replaced hard disk, reinstalled OS & NIS 2011.(NIS saw this as an additional PC). PC 4: Cloned boot drive backup for PC 1 (to be used in event of PC 1 boot disk failure). Booted fm this cloned drive to ensure it worked, NIS saw this as an additional PC. PC 4 needs to be removed from my valid installs list. PC 5: Relative’s Dell Dimension desktop. WAS a legitimate NIS 2011 install. System died, unable to uninstall NIS 2011. System was scrapped & replaced with new Dell Vostro desktop (“PC 6” below). PC 5 needs to be removed from my valid installs list. PC 6: Relative’s new Dell Vostro desktop PC - Replacement for PC 5. NIS 2011 was installed, but subscription has “expired” & will not be renewed for this unit due to relative’s failing health. Summary: PCs 1 & 3 are both active units in my home. These should count as the only 2 valid, active installs on my Norton account. This should leave me with 1 remaining install on a 3 system subscription. Q: If a PC / boot drive fails, what is the proper procedure for having the failed unit removed from my list of active NIS 2011 installs? Thanks!
