When I check Norton after starting up my computer, among the things it lists as part of the startup exercise (under "history") are two entries, one is that I am "connected to a private network" it gives the address in code instead of a straightforward IP address. Actually two networks. One is "private" and "protected" and I recognize the IP address as my service provider. The other is "public" and set to "file sharing" -- instead of a normal IP address the gateway physical address that Norton conjures is in what looks like Hex code -- six pairs of numbers/letters. How do I find the identity of this network that is sharing my files?
Norton trusts it, but I want to know what it is before I trust it.
