My weekly C drive backup runs fine, but the D drive backup has stopped working. I don't think the part about lack of system resources means space to the target drive. The drive receiving the backup file has 418GB free space, and the disk being backed up to that location is 204GB. Here's the error msg ...
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of DRV7_VOL1 (D:\).
Error E7D1001E: Unable to read from file.
Error EBAB03F1: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)
Well, something still ain't right. After all that, I defined two entirely new backups and launched the first one. Got this error:
-Unable to write to file.
--Error EBAB03F1: The system cannot find the file specified.

Tonight I'm going to run the WinXP checkdisk utility on the external drives where all these problems are happening. Can't hurt.
The drives are back after rebooting, and I've already run a successful backup of my C drive onto one of the previously unavailable external USB drives. Making progress, even though this is all pretty bizarre.
That's good news. You mentioned drives, as in you have more than one of them? That's fine. Just make sure that one drive is for one job only, as you cannot use 2 drives as the backup destination for the same job. If you use more than 1 drive, you should have more than one backup job.
