How to optimize and consolidate old backups

Hello guys

I've been trying to find a solution for this, but so far I haven't been able to solve it.

I've been using ghost to back up my computer, and doing a great job with it.

Unfortunately my computer's disk broke up. After repairing and reinstalling the computer I recovered my backups from my external disk. (I opted to reinstall instead of simply recovering the drive so I could clean up and update some software.)

I the meanwhile my backup drive was left with an "old version" backup set with 9 incremental that I would like to optimize and consolidate. As these backups don't show up in my backup location manager I really don't know how I could do it.

Is there anyone who can help me?

Hi.

I performed my backups on a Windows Vista Laptop with Norton Ghost 12.

When the new hard drive was installed I made a clean instalation and upgraded to Norton Ghost 15.

If you just want to keep one of the incrementals (I'm guessing the last one), use Windows explorer to browse to the .iv2i file you want to keep and double click it. It should open the recovery point browser. Now  highlight the .iv2i file on the left side. Click copy and give it a destination, filename, etc. Once this newly exported file checks out OK you should be able to delete the original set of files.
Good luck!

Can you click the  "Verify"  button to the left of the Copy button and see if it passes?

I also tried that before posting but still the same error.
