Today starting, my norton 360 was throwing an OS wide alert that I am unprotected because safe web is not activated. But I don’t want this feature. Yet, now it shows crosses on windows shield tray icon and norton tray icon
This is super frustrating. I am protected. all service are on except for this one

@bruneaubruneau As simplistic as this may sound, does a system restart change things? Is the Safe Web setting shown below set to off in your settings?

Yes it set to off as I said. And I want it that way since it blocks many pages on firefox or chrome no matter what settings I remove unless I remove the whole “safe web” thing. I don’t use the chrome/firefox extension btw, I don’t want norton to have anything to do with my browsers
I’ve been a subscriber for years. If the red cross isn’t removed I wont be renewing Norton. I don’t want safe web and i don’t want a red cross, too annoying.
@bruneaubruneau @Tony_Walter I can duplicate the issue my side both Windows 10 & 11. Disabling the Safe Web switch shown in my previous screenshot enlists the red X on the Norton system tray icon. Re-enabling it removes it, I have not found any other way around it. Unfortunately, Norton has to correct it their side, its another “forced” usage detail within settings that many don’t want to enable yet must. I am tagging a Norton Admin/Employee for a response.

Additionally, leaving Safe Web slider in the enabled status, then under the Safe Web enable button, disabling all the other settings does NOT trigger the red X scenario. However, disabling “Browser Data Protection” triggers the red X issue same as disabling Safe Web.
