How to prevent full system scan from skipping files?

Hi there,

 

My name is Peter. I have been a Norton user for a few years now, I have switched from antivurs to internet security back and forth between internet security and  360 for the last couple of years but this year I am with the 360 Premier Edition. I always noticed when I run a full system scan that it skips files. How do force Norton to run through every single file? When I run a full system scan I expect it to check all the files. I have over 1,500,000 files. Norton seems to skip outs files that I have on my hard drive. It skips out around 18,000 files. I would imagine some of the files being skipped would be OS related but I can't be sure if it skips other regular files as well. I do have a lot of downloads. I know how to prevent Norton from searching certain files but I do not have that setting enabled. So All files should be accessible for scanning. Any info?

thanks for the answer, makes sense. I just personally thought full system scan meant scan every minute detail/file.

Hi Suipeter,

 

You can go into the Norton scan settings and change the Scan Performance Profiles setting to "Full Scan," if you do not want Norton to skip trusted or previously scanned files.
