I posed a similar questions earlier and thought it has been solved. However, it seems that there is no way to selectively remove most cookies while retaining only those I want. It seems to be an either/or situation - either one removes all the cookies or one retains all the cookies. Am I missing something here?
Hi ia3d
To allow selected cookies to be kept and unwanted cookies to be deleted there are two options listed below. The first option means that each browser you use will need option one performed on and if the browser has an upgrade then the process may need to be performed again. The option two covers all browsers and upgrades to those browsers.
To ensure that you are only keeping the legitimate cookies, delete all cookies first then visit the websites to collect the cookies by performing the normal tasks on the website so that the only cookies you have are the ones you require.
Option one.
Use the browser concerned to deal with the cookies, for this you’ll need to use the web to find the browser and the specific version and follow the instructions.
Option two.
Use C cleaner it has two buttons, cleaner and registry, cleaning the registry can cause serious problems so it is best to leave it alone.
On the left hand pane of the cleaner user interface there are check boxes that can be unchecked so that the files in these locations will not be deleted.
To set selected cookies to keep in C cleaner click the C cleaner icon, click cleaner button, click options, click cookies, click on cookie to high light use arrow buttons on centre pane to move cookies from one pane to another.
C cleaner (4mb) is freeware, you might like to do some research on the web about C cleaner?

After much hair-pulling and frustration, I discovered on my own the solution for how to retain wanted cookies while getting rid of the unwanted ones. Here it is, step-by-step:
- On the startup screen - select "Privacy".
- Under "Select your action" - select "Clear Your Browsing History"
- "Browsers" from the left-hand side should be automatically selected. In the box, the browsers you use should show in black; non-used browsers are greyed out
- A blue line entitled "Select which Cookies you want to retain" will show below the "Browsers" box and above the three orange buttons. Select that line.
- A pop-up box will appear with all your cookies displayed. Choose the ones you want to retain.
Thanks for your efforts, intersec, which Norton has seen fit to mark as a solution. However, there is a much easier solution, which I discovered on my own and which I have posted above.
