When I upgraded to Windows 10 my backups based around Norton Ghost stopped working. I tried the suggested work arounds for licensing but they didn't work.
I installed Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 as a temporary solution but my trial period is almost up. I read somewhere obscure that the fix is expected in December. I thought I would take the risk and purchase SSR 2013 R2 now to get the product licensed but I am finding this an extremely difficult thing to do. The challenge I believe is that Symantec Corp have split their company and the new data storage company (with the resurrected name Veritas) has been sold to the Carlyle Group. Consequently SSR 2013 R2 seems to be in limbo.
From the registration window in SSR I tried to purchase a license but got lost in the Veritas maze. What I seem to be seeing is that the product is only sold through verified partners. Following that trail I came up with Consilium UK. However there seems to be no connection with the Manchester address on their web site and the closest is Paisley near Glasgow ( I live in UK near Manchester). Their credentials don't really convince me that they are at all interested in SSR 2013 R2.
Please can anybody enlighten me as to what is happening with Veritas/Carlyle SSR 2013 R2 and where to purchase it in UK? Is there any other backup recovery product you would recommend? I am getting tired of being p****d around by this company.
Thanks for you help
Derek
