How to remove a malware pop-up titled "Software not up-to date" which offers to update certain apps

I would like to remove a (malware?) pop-up titled "Software not up-to date" which offers to update certain apps such as Adobe Air, Skype, Java,etc at different times - usually on startup.  I use Windows 7, 64 bit.  Any ideas?
