I have been having lots of problems with my computer. Starting this summer I have gotten many hook keyloggers, password dumps, and other malicious software. I've had to erase my hard drive several times because of this and even went to the extent to buy a new computer.
I'm baffled as to why this is happening to me because I only use my computer for my hobby, household sites, news and things of that nature. One of my credit cards was used but now, it's obvious to me that even my emails are being read. I have done everything I can to stop this since it's horrible to feel that someone is looking over your shoulder all the time. I even restricted my computer from my home network and I am the only person who knows my password.
I had Norton Internet Security 2008. I liked and used the rules logs a lot to block things I didn't recognize. However, I thought it was time to upgrade to 360...
First, I was not able to purchase the upgrade....I kept getting an error: SYS_000006...telling me that my cart was empty so, I downloaded the trial version until I can buy the software.
However, now I'm glad that this happened because before I buy it, I want to be sure that I can SEE what's being blocked. The Statistics Report tells me that a malware software was blocked, but I can't tell what software it is. The 2008 version told me.
Also, now when I try to track the rules and see what's trying to get into my computer I can't. I'm not able to check the tracking box on the firewall rules so, I have no logs.
Sorry this is so long, but I've had some incredibly frustrating things happening to me and Norton 2008 was the one that gave me the most information so, I thought that 360 was the way to go.
HELP!
Now, with regard to the Malware on your computer, I would suggest, first of all, to Update your Norton 2008 Product, boot in to Safe Mode and do a Full System Scan.
I would also suggest you to Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware, Install, Update and do a Full Scan - of all Drives - in Safe Mode.
If you have any Files which may be Malicious, I would highly-recommend you Submit them to symantec Security Response.
One thing I forgot to mention is that, whenever you are Running a Scan, please Dis-connect from the Internet. This is important because Malware can use Anti-Removal Techniques which means that, even if the Anti-Virus Product says it has Removed a Threat, parts of it may still be on your system, which means it may Repairs it-self and the Malware is back, fully on your computer. Thanks!

Floating_Red,
Thanks you very much for your response! I will try what you suggested and will post the results here in case that someone else is going through the same.
