How the hell do u shut it down? This crap is just as bad as spyware. And please dont respond with 2 pages of 'you dont need to shut it down'. If i want to shut it off, I should be able to shut the thing off.
Use some common sense the world doesnt revolve around your stupid antivirus program.

This is for Norton AV 2008 not norton internet security. I just uninstalled it cuz i couldnt figure out how to shut it off. Sorry for the mis-post
Thank you for the clarification. Which components of Norton AntiVirus 2008 would you like to disable? Most of the components can be disabled from the product’s main page.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.
Based upon the information you have provided all that I can say with certainty is that you are upset.
Please - stay calm and we will work with you to work the problem.
NAV2008 was causing problems and you uninstalled it. That's your call.
It might be helpful for you if you told us what happened and what prompted you to unistall the product.
We also need info on you OS - service packs / updates ... and whether or not you were running another AV program at the same time.
So - please, keep calm and work with us to help you solve whatever is causing the problem.

I apologize; what exactly do you want to shut off? If you wish to disable components of Norton Internet Security 2008, you can launch the product, click the Norton Internet Security tab. In the Settings section, you can select any component and turn it off. I hope this helps. Please let me know if I have misunderstood your question.
