The never-ending, relentless, obtrusive POP-UPS in the lower right hand corner of the screen... I just finished a chat session about how to finally stop them. Long story short -
First, under 'Administrative Settings', turn OFF 'Norton Task Notification' and 'Special Offer Notification'.
Then, in CLASSIC mode, click on the magnifying glass in the upper right. Type 'NOTIFICATION'. This brings up several different notifications that can be switched off. These options are not listed under 'Administrative Settings'.
This should finally turn off all pop-up notifications.
The rep only told me about the second step after I thoroughly complained and threatened to cancel my subscription. He actually said he wasn't supposed to tell me about that (whatever that means).
I too get sick of the notifications which pop up through out the day.
Just wonder why switching on or off notifications is not in "Settings" I have to do a search for notifications to make changes.
My dream is to have an Antivirus program which goes ahead blocks all threats, does a programmed scan automatically and only notifies me when there is a threat which Norton cannot fix or stop.
Well, I never threatened to cancel my subscription. For Norton to scan my device for its marketing purposes is nothing short of AN INVASION OF MY PRIVACY. After decades as a customer, I went ahead and canceled my Norton subscription. Maybe I should give them more direct feedback.
Thank you very much. So many of the "tips" stop at Settings/Administrative Settings/Special Offer Notification. It's the big lie and does just about nothing. Your steps are what matters and you stated them concisely.
