Norton utilities is not build to see you extern harddisk only intern harddisk you need a other produckt to extern harddisk

Windows OS has it own inbuilt defrag app. From File explorer, right click drive requiring defrag. Select ‘Properties’, ‘Tools’ from top, will bring up option to check integrity of disk & ‘Optimise/Defrag’. That will bring up list of available drives. Select required drive, can either analyse or optimise. This works on majority of external drives.
