i was dismayed to find that, starting with version 22.22.10.9, the popup alerts/notifications in the bottom right have gotten much larger. They now cover at least six times the area as before -- about three times as high, and at least twice as wide. So they take up much more screen real estate, and block other information that I need to see. The previous, smaller alerts were just the right size. They were definitely eye-catching -- no way to miss them -- while being much more discreetly sized.
Is there any option to make the alerts smaller -- hopefully reverting to the old size? Or failing that, have them appear in a different part of the screen where they don't block as much that I want to see? In particular, higher would be better. I can't imagine Norton wants to move back to the long-gone "bad old days" where it was widely viewed as intrusive.
Yeah @ bjm. i seen a post about that. i had to look shi* up online to figure how to post a frekn pic here. Unbelievable. And even then, having read through that (what i found, which i mean ..led me to these forums/ threads), ..there are problems and glitches with that (system) too! many people were reporting. Im not dealing with it. This place (and program) is ridiculous. oh and by the way, yours and mine, your reply to me, and..my other comment.. are Hidden from public. i just seen it gone ..when i came over from looking as not signed in (to see your reply).
edit: now i seen it there. after i signed out. What a messed-up glitchy system Smh ugh.
Here's an example of mine (pic) and i get these constantly.. whenever i load or refresh / restart Discord and whenever i restart my web-browser. "Cam" notifications. I was looking for a way to Disable just these SPECIFIC notifications (and this was even before the new "update" with these absurdly-huge notifications), to no avail. Cannot disable just these "cam blocking notifs" pfft. But now its even worse because they are so huge. And BOGGY. this program now is nothing but a bloaty mess. and has been since 2000-Teens somewhere. But since like 2015/16/17 'ish area timeframe it has been sickly bloated. I have been with Norton since like 2009. i remember the old days. This program runs like crap on computers now. And i have dedicated GPU and beefy system. And speaking OF THAT yes also these new HUGE notifications are boggy and dont even come into view 'smooth' That is because they are bloat. and run like crap. As i said i have a good GPU and a beefy system. I should have left norton in like 2017ish area. This program is a joke now. Too much bloat and crap and performance takes a huge hit. Heck i put norton on Silent Mode half the time--because it runs like crap and hinders the performance of my PC. There are plenty of Lighter programs out there that can protect as well if not better than Norton. Yes, it is a good program for protection and security i'll give'em that much but by gosh from a tech-standpoint its a POS piece of crap/ crapware and bloatware beyond tolerable at this point. I'm pretty sure this will be my last year of subscription to Norton. Because i dont see them going to improve performance or take out all the bloat they have added and along with that note .. I can see them just are going to get worse and worse and worse. more and more. anyways pfft im done with this message. im fed-up at this point. Here's my pic i was gonna share / post...
Edit:
wow. Nvm. i cant even seem to upload a pic (png) here. it tells me only txt, pdf, and zip are allowed. smfh. Here's a screenshot from printscreendotcom. ▬► https://prnt.sc/HboTXnFNYksB
* the file name of the pic ..i named it: Norton crap alerts - BLOATWARE PROGRAM since 2000-teens and since like 2017 has become 100 times worse boggy bloatware
Edit 2) pfft! Hoops & hurdles to simply upload an image file to a thread here, ... EVEN MORE REASON FOR ME TO DITCH YOU PEOPLE!! buh byee (this will be my last time purchasing this product. PERIOD. and i've been with is since 2009. im done
I wonder if they could just add an option for notification size, similar to the option for alternate launch views. For example, they could have a setting for Large vs Classic notification size. They could even put a marketing spin on it, such as making the larger size the default and calling it "Enhanced Information." Or tagging classic size as "Limited Information," or even "Not Recommended."
If not, I'll probably start exploring Norton alternates, after using it continuously for 13 years.
