I too (like many others?) am suffering very poor startup and irregular performance from recently patched NIS2013? Startups are extremely slow and often have issues around NIS 2013 starting properly (or at all).
My PC has been swept from top to bottom by many security products and anti-malware to eliminate other issues.
Re-installing NIS 2013 after running NPE (Norton Power Eraser) does not solve the issue. My platform is WIN 7 64bit fully patched.
Recently I am getting two NIS2013 icons in taskbar one with red cross indicating issues? I have attached a screenprint of issue.
Does anyone have any ideas because this behaviour and performance is enough to stop me renewing on multiple PCs and switching to a rival?
