Hello
I have a new PC (Lenovo X1 carbon gen9), Windows 10, and I downloaded Norton Internet Security through my account (added a device). It started Ok but after a day, it said I had to activate as my Free Trial was over but it cannot communicate with server. I followed instructions to restart, redownload...and I also tried to stop my Windows Security, no luck...very strange.
Norton used to have a help desk we could call...no longer? I'm not sure I need it if I have Windows Security after all
I was just trying to activate the NIS license but we have identified the issue. I still have VMWare Carbon Black Cloud blocking comms with the server. It was installed by my previous employer I bought the PC from. They are trying to uninstall it.
What feature are you trying to access when you get this message? Or are you just trying to sign into your Account within your 360 product?
Hi Peter,
Thank you for your answer. VPN (NordVPN) was off...Just checked my subscription status online, and it's fine (I use 2 licences out of 3).
Very frustrating
Cheers
Alain
This could just be a temporary server issue, so keep trying. Be sure your VPN feature is turned off when trying to access a Norton server.
One thing to check is your subscription status. Open the Norton classic interface by right clicking on the Norton icon in the system tray and clicking on Open Norton 360. Then click on Help > Subscription Status at the bottom right.
