I cannot restore backed up files

My old computer died & I have set up the new one & installed Norton 360 multi-device, which I had on the old one & from which I backed up my files.

When I go to restore the files to my new computer, I get a prompt "No back-up sets selected."

The "Manage back-up sets"window says "No current back-up."

How do I get the files onto this computer?

Can you please try by clicking 'Refresh list'  and see if it lists all your backup sets ? You can get to this page by clicking 'No backup set selected' in Restore files.

Thank you.  I do not know what happened before, but this time the files were there.  I did not even have to refresh.

Perhaps it takes time to appear after installing the product.

The only problem now is the time it is taking....1% after 40 minutes.

At this rate it will take 65 hours for 4.3 GB.....does that sound right?

Yes, you are right . It will get updated automatically . You can also click Refresh list to view it immediately. 

 

How is the restore progressing now ? In case if it is very slow, you can also contact support and request for DVD.

After 14 hours, progress was showing 55.8%.  Then 2 hours later when I checked it had stopped at 55.8% & the prompt was "There is a problem connecting to the internet.  Make sure a connection is available".

Connection was fine & I clicked ÖK" and the "Restore Results"showed NO FILES HAD BEEN BACKED UP.

I clicked on "Help"and was taken to your website, proving the the internet connection was fine.

The website was no help at all.

 

I rang your help desk & was told that I must have lost internet connection at some stage  & that even if it lasted only a few minutes I would have to start all over again.

Julian was unable to tell me whether, as the whole thing failed, my down-load allowance has been affected.

If it is, then I will be speed limited & it will take a few days.

I don't believe that you have a system where people have to start over again.

I also don't believe that I lost internet connection over night.
