Hello. I really have an emergency here. I bought Norton 360 trusting that I could backup my files and if I had to restore them it would not be a problem. Trusting Norton I reformatted my hard drive and proceeded to restore all my personal files from online backup.
I have Norton 360 version 3.0. When I attempt to restore, what happens is that I pick a category of files to restore, restore is initialized,
the computer begins to back up my files and then "restore files" stalls out at 0.3%. I have attempted to use online help. At first the guy
said "it takes a long time." I don't know if the support people think that customers are stupid, but I told him of course I know it takes a long time, but that's not the problem. He then stayed on for a while and realized I really have a problem. My situation has been sent to
the "research team" whatever that means.
The point is now that all my personal files are "stuck in cyberspace" and I cannot back them up. The online help guy showed me that
restore files works fine on my new files. The problem is that it doesn't work on my old files that were backed up prior to my doing a system restore.
I am very much in need of getting my files off the online storage. Can someone please help or point me in the right direction. I have approximately 37.6 GB of storage that I cannot get to now.
Thanks, David W.
