I can't confirm a purchase from 5 years ago and now I can't download the norton product I was forced to auto-renew because I cannot turn off auto-renew until I confirm the purchase they won't allow me to confirm

I am so frustrated with Norton. They made me uninstall my software a couple of months ago for a problem and then I couldn't reinstall because there's a permanent 5 year old order that no matter how many times I enter the correct serial number (luckily I still have the 5yr old email in my account, or unluckily perhaps) an error message comes up with a different code each time. The I try to decline the order and still an error message. Then they auto renewed my subscription and I can't switch this function off because of the order I can't confirm or decline. Now I still can't reinstall because on top of the order from 5yrs ago and despite the fact that when I try to reinstall they say I have no Norton product on my computer, they tell me I have no product to install and offer to let me buy a key. I can't find any help on the Norton site. They can send me all the emails they like and I cannot email them. I don't want to chat on the phone. I just want a refund. I had hoped I wouldn't have to go to my bank, but looks like I'll have to. I was considering staying on with Norton for another year as the payment has gone through, but if I have to go without protection, where's the fairness in that? I've tried using the serial number, the order number (old and new) and the original product key. Nothing works.
