I have been trying to install NIS 2012, but it will not install beyond the "collecting error files" stage and it consumes nearly 100% of one core of my two cores...I even tried to get NIS 2011 (again) and NIS 2010 to install to see if they would remove any leftovers from the previous NIS 2011 installation...no luck. I have used the Norton Software Removal Tool at least 6 times and restarted...no luck. After I uninstalled the NIS 2011 I was using...I did an extensive registry cleaning. Then I removed the legacy entries that I found with Jv16 Powertools. I have removed all files I could find, with all my cleaning software, concerning Norton and Symantec...What now? Nothing is working...I refuse to re-install my entire OS just for this one program. I like Norton and would like to continue to use it.
What haven't I done???
