I can't install Norton Antivirus 2009

Yes but the major feature that has NIS above NAV is the firewall that isn’t needed by all. I, for example, have a router that has hardware firewall protection and is just the same (and i think also better than a software firewall) so isn’t always suggested to spend more money for a void feature.

Wrong. I hardware firewall stops inbounds. A software firewall stops outbounds.

It has Phishing Protection as well as an excellent In-bound and Out-bound Firewall.

For what i know, the outbounds can be protected with windows firewall as well… are the inbounds the real problem

WIndows' Firewall is only In-bound; symantec's is way better than Windows' Firewall.

Windows firewall is a joke. Never use it. It provides next to no protection.

Exactly; it is not very good.

I would only use it on extreme circumstances, such as having no Anti-Virus Protection, but Downloading another one with intentions to install it.

Dieselman743 and Floating_Red are quite correct that the Windows Firewall is only Inbound protection, and not very effective and should only be used under the circumstances outlined by Floating_Red.

As Dieselman743 mentioned, the NAT Firewall in your router is also only inbound protection.

It is equally important to stop unauthorized OUTBOUND connections with a Two-way Firewall such as NIS 2009.

Anyone who tells you differently is ill-informed.

You say your temporarily removed Smart Security from Eset. Do you mean disabled it or unisntalled it? You cannot run 2 av’s or 2 firewalls together. You need to completely remove Eset first and reboot. Be sure all traces are gone then install NAV 2009. I have installed NIS 2009 on 5 pc’s now with no troubles what so ever.
