I allowed one of my Windows XP Home SP3 PCs to update to NIS 2013/20.X and I immediately regretted it.
Among the problems with this version are:
1) Desktop Icon gone (I understand why you might remove it, but shouldn't you have asked/warned users during installation or with a text file to read?)
2) Can't log into My Norton Account from Identity Safe in either Firefox or Internet Explorer (and therefore you can't access your passwords in the cloud)
3) Norton Antispam (and I suspect all of NIS. NIS tray icon disappears) crash when downloading mail in outlook express (also causes runtime and other errors when exiting outlook express).
4) numerous other problems can be found posted in this forum
I tried using the NRT and reinstalling, but the problems remained. I contacted tech support and got a link to the NIS2012 installation files and reinstalled 2012. Symantec needs to fix this new version and advise its users when they have a stable version of the new NIS.
