I gave up my old protection so my pc could get compromised & poor support! Help please.

I purchased and downloaded NIS 2009 1 or 2 days ago. This morning I was looking for info about building a new pc and got a pop up window saying my pc was infected and I need an online scan. I tried to close the box and was unable to.

I closed FF 3 and still found another pop up box with the same message. I shut down my pc using the power button.

Came home a short time ago turned on my pc and found my browser had been reset to the original settings as if I had just started unsing FF.

Did a full system scan. Norton says notheing happened.

Contacted Norton via Chat. That's something I hope I never have to go through again.

Norton tells me it's ok. I'm not infected. Not to worry about my browser being reset. And when I stated that I didn't feel well protected if something can reset my browser I'm given a statement that Norton is the best but nobody can protect me 100%.

I quit Chat and tried to link to Norton for a refund. I gave up when after choosing to make the request by phone I was given a priority #. I called Norton right away and entered the priority # and was told the # was no good. I tried a few more times and got no where.

Norton may be the best for many of you but I can't afford to be compromised and lose what little I've got. And I am used to better support than this.

Can any of you help me with getting a refund?
