I have no idea how i got them. i havent installed any programs lately so i dont know where they came from. the only program i downloaded this month is yahoo messenger and i've unistalled it already. it says: Virus 68c15ced-1a040c36 detected. when i do a full scan and then press on repair all it says "repair failed". i tried doing this: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-for-Mac/Norton-can-t-remove-Trojan-Horse-and-Trojan-Gen/td-p/285416 the part of the terminal but it said that there was no user or program with that name or something like that. Also my norton is not the mac norton, i use the one i had in my windows desktops....
You mention an error when trying to run in Terminal, can you paste your command and the error here? Also, what is the path shown to the infected file?

I noticed you also mentioned that you had the windows version of the norton product on your mac.
If this is the case, i would suggest installing Norton for Mac as the the windows version will not work properly in removing viruses for example. This would be because the coding and technology is different.

So i guess it is from Java? Should I uninstall it or what?
Try removing "<path>" from your command (the item to remove starts with /Users).
It isn't coming from Java per se, but probably from a malicious website. It just gets saved into the Java cache.

I also had the: trojan.gen.2 virus show up on a recent scans. When the window opened up I clicked : REPAIR.
then it said : NOT REPAIRED. So, I contacted Norton 24/7 support and told them my problem. With my permission,
the support member went into my computer and removed this virus. The support member also said that the
trojan.gen.2 virus was a Windows virus and really could not do anything to my Mac computer. However, I am
glad the virus is gone, because it still kept coming up on my repeat scans, before it was removed.
Redgems, After you found this Trojan and Norton wouldn't or couldn't remove the Trojan. After it was found, you used Norton to try to delete it, with no success. This was confirmed by the application. Then you called Norton 24/7 Support. At this point, I want to interrupt and ask a question. There is no polite way to put this. Did the person from Norton 24/7 Support charge you a fee before he would start? He would also promise to return the money, if he could not fix the problem. Even now, it seems like there is something fundamentally wrong with this picture. Either you are in the business of making Mac computers secure or not, but the application should have done it. In fact, for a long time Symantec was under a dark cloud and in some ways is still there. I choose to give it another chance. They would be extremely wise to listen.
