I am running Windows 7 and cannot get OnlineFamily to run.  It is running fine on my XP machine.

The probelm is; once I try to load the program, it will never take me to the place where I sync the child/avatar with the computer user.  It tells me that I have not loaded the program and that I must load it first.

I have loaded successfully & my daughter’s Windows log in name has appeared. However, my son’s does not. I have tried removing the computer & then using the option to enter a new Windows log in - using the same log in name obviously. This does not allow the computer to be saved. All I need is to be able to see his log in & I think I am away. Using XP SP3. If you can help I would be grateful.

Hi eddiepthomasjr,

Please use the download link on the login page https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/loginStart.fs to download Norton Safety Minder to your PC first, then bind your children's profiles online to their Windows user accounts.

Thanks,

Katie

Hi AINZ,

Hello, on WinXP I install OnlineFamily and add child users.  When I click Finish I immediately get a popup error about a network erro and a note to try later.  This seems to happen quicker than any network activity likely happens.  Ideas?  Thanks.

KatieQ I am having the exact same issue with my laptop. I set up the safety minder on 12/31 and for 4 days it worked out great. However on Jan 4 I received an email stating that the safety minder had been disabled!I have tried to do anything I could to reactivate it, but nothing is working and is making me upset. When I access the laptop profile (guest) it says that it’s running, but when I go to the online tool to check the monitored activity, it says it stopped running on 01/4!What’s going on??

KatieQ, thanks for the quick response. I think I have resolved the issue. It looks like I might need to wait a little longer to get the results of the activity. I still don’t understand why I was sent those messages saying that the safety minder had been turned off though. I will email you if I have any further issues.

robertaharden83,

I'm glad to hear the issue has been resolved.  Right, it generally takes a few minutes to get the results of the activity.  For the issue Safety Minder had been turned off, please make sure you're on the latest Norton Safety Minder 1.2.0.39 (right click on the NSM icon, a dog paw in the system tray and select About Norton Safety Minder).  You click on the  Download link on the OnlineFamily.Norton login page to download the version if  you don't have it yet.

Thanks,

Katie

This is the exact error I get after clicking 'Finish' during setup.

(See Kunver's message with text file)

Hi, I got a problem when setting up OnlineFamily.Norton. Actually, I have already installed it in my PC. While I was asking to set up my accounts and I entered all information required one by one following the instruction provided, i.e. email address, password, create a new window account for my child, the name of my computer and press the 'finish' button to finish the setup. But I only received an error message saying "an error occurred while receiving data from OnlineFamily.Norton. Please try later" while it was saving data to OnlineFamily.Norton. I have tried many times but got the same result. Would someone be helpful to solve this problem for me. Thanks a lot.
