I just joined Norton 360, and my router/modem is older, Motorola model 7540 Do I need to upgrade it to take full advantage of the Norton 360 VPN feature?

No need to change the router. VPN software just uses your internet connection to connect to the VPN servers to provide the added security afforded by a VPN.
