Hello my fellow geeks,
I just want to know if there is any option to program the Norton VPN to start as soon the device is started,
I believe it should be easier and safer for those like me, that very often forget to restart the service.
Thanks
[Edit: Clarfied the subject]
It has been a couple of years now, so I would not hold my breath.
This is really disappointing. My previous VPN provider allowed me to set it up to automatically turn on the VPN upon start up. I wanted to consolidate my security services and Norton 360 seemed like a good choice, with good on line reviews. I never saw anything about this issue. Any chance Norton will fix this? It would show they have a keen grasp of the obvious.
I share the same complaint. This is not an upgrade, this is back to the stone age like using a 9 pin printer...
I just called Norton about this feature, or rather lack thereof, today. I'm a new Norton customer and my previous VPN service provided the option to automatically enable the VPN upon startup on all my devices. I was disappointed to find that this feature was not available with Norton's VPN service since they merged it with the Norton 360 Deluxe Package. I believe we should have the choice to manually turn it on and off as well as have it automatically enabled upon start up on all devices (including desktops) and I hope they upgrade the product to do that soon. Personally, it would make my computer more secure since my whole family forgets to turn the VPN on, even with sticky notes reminding them to do so.
Currently, the VPN function in Norton 360 does not start when the device is started. The feature also turns off if the device sleeps or hibernates, or if your internet connection drops out for any reason. Norton designed it this way. Not sure why. And there have been many requests for more control over the feature, but so far nothing from Norton.
