I keep getting the following pop-up at the bottom right-hand corner of my screen: –

"Norton Utilities Premium updates are available."

Is this a genuine Norton message or a scam?

I'm having the same problem, and I've posted a thread (How do I stop all Norton advertising popups? | Norton Community) on this issue that has been closed by Norton without a resolution. Here is my most recent post regarding this issue (Norton spam with paid subscription | Norton Community).  I'm done with Norton and will not renew my subscription, after 25 years.  

Forum threads get automatically closed after 30 days with no new posts. It has nothing to do with whether or not an issue is resolved.

It seems the marketing department is running the show. You may have seem the multitude of threads here on this issue. There is nothing anyone in the forums can do about it until marketing loosens their grip on things.

In that case I am all out of ideas.  Unless one of the other forum members has a clue I'd suggest you contact Customer Support and explain to them your concern.  They will more than likely ask to remotely connect to your machine to see what's going on.  Please be patient as the global pandemic is affecting Customer Support as it is with many other industries.

Yes, it does look legitimate.

Probably a stupid question and I do apologise, but have you double checked your installed programs?

And have you clicked on Install from that pop up? It is a legitimate NUP popup.

I just reinstalled NUP and have version 17.0.6.847

NUP 17.06 had some bug in it and the version was taken down after release.

The latest version now is 17.05.

Hmm.  That's weird.  I wonder why mine is an older version?

Anyway I received a PM from the OP:

I have Norton 360, not Norton Utilities Premium. This is why I am surprised to see the pop-up.

What version of NUP do you have?  You can find the version by opening NUP and clicking the "?" on the top right of the GUI > About Norton Utilities Premium

My version is 17.0.5.701.
