I received an email notifying me that the payment was not processed for the renewal

Norton had informed me my credit card on file didnt go through on renew date. They were correct as I had got a new card. I hadnt updated it yet. The next day they took the money out of my NEW credit card which I never gave them the information on. They stole my credit card information without my authorization or knowledge. I thought Norton was in the buisness if protecting peoples info. They illegally stole my card infirmation which I have reported to authorities and my bank. Has anyone else had this issue. Im thinking about a class action lawsuit against these criminals which are supposed to protect MY privacy. They STOLE MY CREDIT CARD INFO THAT I NEVER GAVE THEM. THATS THEFT!!!!!

[Edit :Calrified the subject]

That does sound scary. Maybe the credit card companies also exchange information to offer the same 'service' to protect ongoing subscriptions????

These details are probably buried deep in the terms and conditions of use for the card. You could ask your current card's support department how this might have happened.

No it is a completely different number from a different bank. When I got my new card, obviously I changed the numbers in accounts I had. Norton was one I forgot about. As I said earlier I recieved an email telling me the old card did not go through. Beings I still had over a month on my subsciption I wasnt in a hurry. So My term of stealing my credit card info is If I never gave it to them and they used it thats not right. Dont regular people get in trouble for doing that.

Does your new credit card have the same card number and just a new expiry date? If so, credit card companies are giving a 'service' to its customers that gives the new card expiry date to a company that you have dealt with in the past. This service is to help ensure any ongoing payments for subscription services do not get denied, causing a loss of some service.  This is not theft.

If this is not what you are seeing, we need a little more information.
