I select the file I want to scan from Windows Explorer, then right-click and select norton 360 gamer > scan selected item for virus, but no Norton 360 window pops up showing that it’s scanning, or it doesn’t show any results at all.
Normally, there should be a scan window or a window notifying you that there is a virus, or there might not be.
On my Windws 10 Pro daily duster machine, I get the menu to select and scan a file, doing so a notice popup appears in the lower right corner of the desktop. I then click the large yellow banner stating “See Details” which opens to scan details. The scan results are shown there.
@peterweb I see the same. When clicking the See Details radio button I get the extended results as in the screenshot posted earlier. This is the ONLY indication I get that a scan was done and takes user action to get the results output.
Check your 360 Settings > Notifications tab and turn on the Send me non-critical app activity alerts, and test to see if you see the Scan completed popup.
I contacted Norton support three times. Each time, I got absolutely no answers or actual solutions—just generic comforting words. Every single time I gave them permission to remote into my PC, they did nothing but reboot my machine once, which killed the connection. When I reached back out with my case ID, I kept getting a brand new agent who had no clue what was going on. It was just a ridiculous loop.
I consider this to be the most terrible and pathetic support ever.
