In stark contrast to several posts at this Forum, I want to thank Norton for the improvements that were made to the last upgrade. Features that they worked on are apparent to me. The File Cleaner has become more thorough and does not have to be executed 2 times to get all the files ... I would like to see more Windows Temp files cleaned, and I would also like to see specifically what files are removed in order to track down 'offending' PUPs, etc. There is a free cleaner that I also use that does a good job of this. I won't mention what the "Free" software is that works like this, but I'll call it my "C" drive "Cleaner". ;-) Updates (I do them manually) only needs to be done once instead of 3 times to get all the updates ... this I like too. The entire Settings control seem much easier to navigate and are more straight-forward. Also, it apparently runs on Window 10, which I'll NEVER use on my desktop machine. I use nothing else that needs Win 10, and I'm going to try to keep it that way. The Monthly Report is better.
There IS one thing though, I have my Alert setting to not be silent but when an attack is captured by the firewall I never get a notification (audio or otherwise). I used to like the older (circa 2000) version that made a noise each time an attempted attack occurred. Then I would use Visual Trace to document the offending IP and I would send the log files (or even call) the ISP and track that sucker down. I'm not spiteful, but I love to shut these wannabe hackers down. One was an 11 year-old kid messing with mommies machine and she 'cut off his water' but quick. hehehe But with the exception of the 2-dimensional appearance, the hideous colors, and the ID Safe Cloud, I really have no 'vicious' complaints to 'spout off' about.
So there we are. I am sure there are other things that have been approved upon that I haven't (or will not) notice. But I'll keep looking. Good or bad, I'll be sure to let you know if something can be improved upon. Like the troublesome 'babe' in the Roger the Rabbit cartoon said, "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way." hehehe
