Issue abstract:default backup not available; after rebooting Norton says this pc not backed up.
Detailed description: I routinely ran icloud backup at night to backup a removable drive (E:) where I keep all financial data. on restart today going to icloud backup does not show my default set to let me choose to sync. it says “This device is not backed up…Backup this pc” If I choose to backup this pc I have the option to include anything on the C drive but not any of the removable drives. If I choose the additional locations option it lists the partitions on the internal hard drive but not none of the removable drives. I do not keep anything of importance on the C drive. If I log into Norton account on browser, I can see the backups I made but now have have no way to continue to update them.
Product & version number:360
OS details:windows 11
What is the error message you are seeing? This device is not backed up…Backup this pc
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

Please confirm your removable drive (E:) is plugged-in/powered/recognized?
Please confirm you’re looking at Local backups
Yes, I’m seeing exactly the same behaviour today. Norton 360 has been backing up my PC with several GB of data for years, but on checking today, as you say, the backup appears to still exist, but is not accessible from my PC. It’s asking me to start a new one. Um, no!!!
No, both myself and the original poster are talking about cloud backups. I haven’t reinstalled Norton recently, although I do periodically clean up cookies etc with Microsoft’s Disk Clean-up. But I’ve used that procedure for years without any ill effects on Norton. It’s interesting that the original poster and myself noticed the same issue today. Anyone else checked their cloud backups?
Not sure if this is involved, but I just went to Manage my Norton Cloud backup and there was a prompt to verify my Norton Account by signing into the Norton Account. Sorry I did not get a screenshot, but it was just above the backup settings.
Happy days - for whatever reason, access to the cloud back-up from my PC has been restored today. Hopefully a one-off glitch… How about yours, pkneiss?
I tried the sync process I always used and today it worked. Someone must’ve figured out what was out of whack and fixed it for us two individuals or hopefully for others not yet aware.
