Id safe doesn't fill in or add new logins; manage login option miss'g when rt click NIS in systray

I have used NIS since 2003. Running NIS 2011 18.5.0.125, Windows/XP SP3, IE 8, Firefox V4.   I installed FF V4 a few days ago, perhaps that is causing part of the problem, but the manage logins option when right clicking on NIS icon in systray has been missing long before I upgraded to FF V4.  Although I am not experienced with all the advanced options & settings, I am quite familiar with the average settings and think I know how to use the product pretty well.  I actually like the product, having switched from McAfee in 2003.  I have to agree with another post that the technical support people are useless.  I WILL NOT give them permission to access my computer and I usually have tried everything they ask me to do before I contact them.  Quite ridiculous for supposed "technical" support.  Funny that a support rep will call me back to see if my problem was resolved, but can't help me resolve anything.  Most problem resolutions I have found on my own.  I installed NIS 2011 in Nov 2010.  Live update runs automatically, keeping NIS up to date.

ISSUE 1:  It used to be that when I right clicked on the NIS icon in systray, one of the options was manage logins.  That option has been missing since I installed NIS 2011.

ISSUE 2:  For quite a while, identity safe has been flaky, working sometimes, but not always.  As other family members use my computer, I figured they just didn't enter the identity safe password when requested, so for a while I would just open up NIS, go to manage logins and enter the password.  That action would cause identity safe to complete logins and passwords appropriately; however, that function no longer works.  Identity safe no longer adds new logins and no longer fills in existing logins.  I read through many, many community posts to see if anyone else was having this problem.  Some of the problems were similar, but none were the exact 2 issues I am having.

MY SOLUTION:  Both issues occur using IE 8 and FF 4.  Not knowing what else to do, yesterday, I downloaded and ran Norton Power Eraser.  It found one problem that it was unable to correct, NIS06900.exe, which I moved to a different file.  I reran NPE and it found no errors.  I then backed up identity safe, which seemed to complete successfully. I have done this several times in the past, fortunately.  I then downloaded the Norton removal tool, disconnected the cable linking my computer to my router and ran the Norton removal tool.  I followed all directions, etc. and eventually restarted my system.  I was happy to see the manage logins option when I right clicked on the NIS icon in systray; however, when I tried to login into identity safe, NIS said my password was no good (I don't remember the exact message).  Following the directions, I tried to restore identity safe from the backup I thought had successfully completed maybe an hour earlier and NIS told me that backup was no good.  REALLY!?!   Fortunately, I had earlier backups and was able to restore from an earlier backup (12/2010 made with NIS 2011).  I reconnected the cable from my computer to the router and ran Live update until there were no more updates.  The manage logins option was no longer present when I right clicked on the NIS icon in systray.  Where did it go?  Identity safe still doesn't fill in logins nor does it record new logins; however, I can go to manage logins by opening NIS and see that the information is there, except for whatever was added after Dec 2010, my restore point.  The url's have not changed and sites that NIS completed userid and password for me a few days ago are no longer completed by NIS.   Examples of these sites, Ebay.com & yahoo e-mail,  https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.intl=us.  Identity safe doesn't fill in login information at any site I go to, even though the correct URL's and information are contained in Identity safe.

Rereading some of the posts about identity safe in this community, I decided to uninstall NIS AGAIN, which I did earlier this afternoon.  I disconnected from the internet and ran the Norton Removal Tool  3 times, restarting the computer each time.  Then I reinstalled NIS 2011.  Manage logins option was there when I right clicked on NIS icon in systray.  I tried to login into identity safe and was told that the password was no good.  The password hint was correct, but my password kept being rejected by identity safe.  I then reconnected to the internet and ran live update.  19 updates were installed and the computer restarted.  NIS said my computer was at risk and to restart the computer.  I restarted the computer and manage logins was gone from ...  systray.  My weather widgets couldn't connect to the internet.  I don't know if this is a related problem or not.  I shut (not restart) down the computer.

I started the computer manage logins still gone, widgets still can't connect.  I ran live update, which installed 10 updates requiring a computer restart. I restarted the computer.  Same problem with widgets and manage logins option from systray.  I ran live update and installed 1 update.  No restart required.  I reinstalled the widgets program and it now works.  I ran live update and 2 updates were installed.  I can open NIS and manage logins, but identity safe is not filling in logins nor recording new logins.  All my settings appear to be correct.  I really don't know what to do next.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about this incredibly l---o---n----g post.  I wanted to be as specific as possible.

Thanks
