ID Safe on ipad and iPhone wont sync with desktop win 10

Desktop Win 10 Vault has 100+ entries  Vault app for iProduct missing most entries. This is on all my iProducts.  (4 total) 

Tried to reinstall app keep getting "communicating with server error" when signing in.

I recommend backing up .dat file on a thumb drive or other removable device, so if you have to clear vault backup from hard drive you still have backup.

Best advice for ALL data files on your computers.

After chatting with tech support, still not sure why or how the issue started. But I had products no longer owned by me that the Norton 360 license had not been removed or cloud storage cleared. Deleted those devices and associated cloud files. Deleted Vault and restored with BACKUP .dat file. Alll is good.

Thank you for your patience with me. You do have a cloud vault on your desktop.

Try to force a sync on your IOS devices. Open the ID Safe app and tap on Logins. Swipe down on the list, and it should refresh. See if that helps.

 

I use google, NOT CHROME, I have it set has your example, ask for password at beginning of session. And No I don’t have the option to open vault when windows starts.

What browser are you using when you log into your vault on the desktop?

And if you open Identity Safe Settings - Security tab, do you see this first option?


Yes I completely log out vault then closes. In order to open vault I need to first sign into norton, email, password then asked for vault password. Vault then opens with all my logins.

Maybe I should have added something when I asked for you to sign in from your browser. I did not mean using the link to the web site. I should have asked you to click on the Vault is closed. Then see if the login asks for your Account email. If you did not test this way, please sign out again, and try again. 

Sorry for seeming to nag on this, but it is important to know if you are using a local vault.

 

Yes I can sign of norton then sign back in with email and password then sign into vault with vault password on desktop. Has all my logins. All mobile devices only shows a few logins.

It seems to me to be a syncing issue with the cloud.

Can we confirm whether or not you have a local vault on the desktop? On your main screen for Norton Security, click on your email at the top right and Sign Out. 

Now go to your browser and try to log into your vault. Are you asked for your Norton Account email and password before being asked for your vault password.

Once we know which vault you have, we can work toward syncing your online vault for your mobile devices.

 

Thanks for you help. I reset my password on Desktop, out of a 110+ saved in vault, on all my mobile devices (including laptop) only 14 show.  is this a Norton (cloud) issue? and should I stop banging my head against the wall for now? 

So it would appear your desktop is using a local vault. Just remember that if all other devices are using a cloud vault, they will not sync with your desktop.

Your suggestion of resetting the vault is probably the way to go now. In case there may have been some differences

Unfortunately, there have been a number of users posting here about losing the contents of their online vaults. So keep your local one as long as you can. 

And be sure you export a backup when you make changes to the vault.

 

No I can't from the link, being told no vault for this account.  Still logged in with vault open on desktop. I did save the DAT file today when problem started.  guess I have to reset password then restore from saved .DAT file.  Which i didn't want to do.

Any other suggestions. 

Wait before resetting the vault password. If the vault is still there, a reset will erase your vault contents.

Can you log into the ID Safe web site I linked to above from the desktop and laptop? If so, are your logins there?

If you have been using ID Safe that long, are you still using a local vault on your desktop or laptop?

I’m a newbie on the forum but have been using Norton for over 10 years and and the vault app ever since it came out… never have had an issue until last night.

iOS 10.3.1. Now I found out my laptop won't allow me to open vault either and wants me to reset vault password. Desktop still works with no issues.
