I've been trying to restore files for almost 3 months, that have been backed up on Norton's online backup system. After two months of a run-a-round with the so-called customer service and engineering department, I finally go someone here on the forum to try an help. I was basically told to let the restore run without interruption. I was told it just takes time. They're not sure how much time, but some time. I started my restore on June 14th. It took a few days before the system finished preparing files for restore. The the restor was stuck on 1% for a few days. Then on 14% for a few more days. Now it's stuck on 43% and that has been for almost a week.
Just an FYI to the poor people like me who have purchased this product... if you need your files give at least 4 weeks to never to restore them. The time I've spent working on this has cost more than the product.
Compare this to Crashplan Pro (about the same price). I've backed up files using that system and I was able to restore from the same files size backup, any file (even on my phone) in about 10 seconds.
Now my subscription is running out in July and I still don't have my files. I'm guessing I will be forced to buy another year of this product in what may be the false hope of ever restoring my files.
Computer still showing 43% restore after yet another week. Still getting the run-around. Can anyone at Norton solve this major malfunction in the NOBU program??? I'm getting sick to my stomach thinking about the files I am losing after putting my trust in the Norton name. Can someone at Norton give me something new to help other than be patient, the system is slowly working. I personally think the system is broken and not working at all. Three months to restore files is not working. Someone please HELP!!!!
Called Norton per the advice from the forum for help. On the forum I'm told that the time it takes to restore files of over 3 weeks is normal. When calling they say it's not normal. I was told I would get a call back and now it's been a day and a half and no call. Please light a candle for my files as I hold vigil. I've got a bad feeling Norton is not going to release the files.
If anyone at Norton would like to help me, I mean, actually help me.... Please call, email or send me a copy of my files. I'm thinking 95 days is long enough...
I feel your frustration and pain. The fact that this program does not work at any sort of reasonable level is both concerning and disturbing and bordering on unbelievable! Especially a product with the backing of Symantec and the Norton brand behind it.
