Identify Safe - can't restore from file - makes application worthless

My system crashed though i had full backups.  I checked help file and then contacted Norton support and was told I can't restore my identity safe info from a file backup. The only way to restore the data is from a backup taken with the application.  I then spent the next 20 minutes trying to get an escalation point within support.

 

I can't believe that you would provide this functionality and if the design is really this bad that it requires a backup from within the app that you don't notify the user before they enable the functionality of this huge limitation.  There are many options for security besides norton (kaspersky is an excellent choice) and unless someone tells me there is some other option to fix this, i'll be trying some other products.

 

The chat help used to be OK, now the response time has gotten 2 to 4 times longer than it used to be - I guess Norton is cutting more corners.
