Identity Protection

In Australia identity protection should allow you to input the Medicare number. This is a common number in Australia which every citizen has.

In the US you can add family members to your identity protection. in Australia if your partner or spouse Wants to be added to Norton identity protection you have to buy the product again rather than just pay the additional fee. So if you have four members in the household you will have to buy the product I assumed four times?

In the US the insurance for identity protection is much higher than in Australia. I don't understand the reason for this?

It was your link to the FAQs regarding Norton by Symantec and LifeLock acquisition. Once I read the FAQs, I had a better understanding.

@DJaycee

Can you give us some detail on exactly what helped from the link you were given? Which section helped the most?

Thanks

Hello DJ

You are very welcome.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Thank you. Your input helped me figure this one out.

Hello

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

I appreciate Peter Web's comment, but here is my dilemma. When I open Norton Security on my desktop, the updated Norton shows that my Identity is protected but unlike before there is no green check mark displayed on my identitity. This is why I am concerned.

LifeLock has nothing to do with protecting passwords. That Norton feature is Norton Identity Safe.

Lifelock is a credit monitoring service that monitors to see if someone is trying to steal your identity, or take out a loan or credit card in your name. Symantec/Norton acquired LifeLock over the last year or so.

The LifeLock offer that comes with subscription renewal is not required. You can decline the offer and still renew your Norton Security subscription.

The question is, are you looking for a credit monitoring service? If so, maybe this link can better answer your questions.  https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-identity-protection/current/solutions/v118255824_nip_faq_en_us

This service has nothing to do with the protection of your computers from malware.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately all these choices are beyond my ability to understand the entire ramifications of such a decision. It's great to have you available for help. Happy 4th!  R.Klot

This is not Identity Safe. It is Identity Protection as your thread title notes. This is a credit monitoring service like LifeLock (which Norton now owns). So the only way to be protected is that you have to give them your personal information. Only you can decide if you are willing to give this information in return for having someone else help protect you.
