This post has been moved to the forum devoted to Norton Identity Safe.
I just installed Indentity Safe lite. I wasn't offered import of Google Chrome logins etc only Internet Explorer which I don't use so I closed the form down. Now I see that Identity Safe is setup but I can't use it as I only use Chrome. How do I either remove Identity safe or set it up so I can 'collect' all my Chrome secure data? Is that possible?
NIS 2012 + latest updates. Windows 7 HP 64 bit.
Thanks.
Well, my NIS 2012 had almost expired. I purchased another copy and installed. I didn't use Identity Safe before but thought I would try it. I checked on the web and found that Identity safe Lite supported IE Chrome and Firefox so I went ahead and elected to have Identity Safe along with the rest of the NIS 2012. It was then that I descovered that it didn't offer me Chrome importing so I uninstalled Identity Safe and d/loaded and installed Lite, which, as I say claims to import Chrome data..
So, at the moment, I don't know if I have Lite installed (no sign in uninstall prgrams) and I can't get to the form where I get offered to select IE (or whatever browser it offers).
So why does the Lite version say that it will import from Chrome and firefox but not the one built into the NIS 2012 instal?
Curious.
I'm not sure where you saw that ID Safe imports from different browsers. I can only see where it 'supports' different browsers. That means once set up you can access it from most browsers.
Can you post a screen shot of what you saw? Instruction on how to post a screenshot can be found here.
Sorry it took so long!
This from Wikipedia, but I found similar on reviews of NIS 2012 where they said supported Chrome,& Firefox
I can't get to send a a 'Snip' as I'm fold that I can only use txt. log. or lue (never heard if it!) so I'm sending as is. sorry!
Version 2012 (19.0)
Released on September 6, 2011, Norton Internet Security 2012 brought new features.[73] One of the new features that was included with the new program is Download Insight 2.0, which not only monitors files for safety but also the stability of a given file. That means that if a file is stable on Windows 7, but unstable on Windows XP, XP users will be notified for the instability of the file.
Also, integration with specialised removal tools is added, for better cleanup of already infected systems. A new smaller and more effective version of Norton Power Eraser is launched to assist in removal of fake antivirus software and other deeply-embedded threats that are otherwise hard to remove. A new tool called Norton Management helps manage different computers and devices equipped with Norton software from a single location.
Another feature added with this release is Sonar 4. Another change is that identity Safe and Safe Web are finally compatible withGoogle Chrome and all the passwords and notes can be stored in the cloud should the user wish. However, the License Agreement does not promise to store passwords securely and provides no remedy if the cloud vault is compromised.[74]

Dave.
Sorry for the repeat, I wanted to check how it worked. It does, I don't know how I missed that, in a hurry I guess. Thanks!

As I stated above, the Chrome browsers are supported in their daily functionality, but nothing says it will import your logins.
Maybe you should search in the Product Suggestion section of the forums. You can add to any suggestion already there, or post your own suggestion.
OK, it seems I got carried away by the rhetoric!
THanks.
