All the thunder and lightening aside, I just saw this and thought those still alive a this point in this debate might be interested to know:
"... Our developers continue to fix compatibility issues between our Norton products and the latest browser releases, and we have some updates on the status. We plan to release an update for NIS/NAV 18.5 and Norton 360 v5 in early May that will address the problems found in both Internet Explorer 9 and FireFox 4. We’re still working on this patch, and testing it thoroughly. Thank for all your help in identifying the issues between the products; that has certainly helped us in resolving these compatibility issues..."

Looks like we've got another month plus to wait ...

Honestly, I do keep trying to leave, but certain people, who are in need of helpful information, keep pulling me back in. I am not intending to leave the Symantec forms, as a while, only the two forums (one for N360, and the other for NIS) dealing with the FF 4 issue. I will say this much, and that is, you are, most definitely, NOT the individual I was referring to. The offending individual is very well aware of who he, or she, is, so you have nothing to worry about. To be completely honest, you have been doing exactly what should be done, which is to either ask for help, or, as I was doing, being one of the individuals attempting to provide help for those who have asked.
Panther68: I never thought for a second you were referring to me and if I implied that you were, I appologize. Keep smiling, life has to get better
As a Norton 360 customer, I would have expected Norton to notify their customers of any potential compatibility issues, and their time frame for addressing those issues.

How would this be done? There are too many people to email. Most of us have product notifications turned off in our individual products. If posted on the forum, most people don't know the forum exists, and half the time don't read the stickies anyway. Some things are easier to say than do.
Perhaps Symantec should have started work on this earlier, but the question is moot. They either started late or they are still testing, or they have to match it up with IE9 so they don't break something in that programming. Regardless of the explanation, there are always those who can write better code in five minutes, or knew more about programming than Symantec ever forgot, or would have had the job done before Mozilla even thought of FF4. Those of us who are long time volunteers here are accustomed to it. As volunteers, however, we are not obliged to suffer the complaints and name-calling. If we can help out we do, in this case we can't. All this thread accomplishes is to give you a chance to express your displeasure. Even that serves a purpose.
Please keep the discussion friendly. I understand that people are frustrated about the recent Firefox 4 update issues, but that does not warrant any name-calling or personal attacks. As that type of behavior is in violation of the Terms of Service for the forums, it will not be tolerated. Any users engaging in that type of behavior may face removal from the forums. Feel free to contact me via Private Message if you need any clarification on what is considered a violation. Thanks.
