Identity Safe icon missing from IE 8 toolbar

Hello! I am currently running Norton Internet Security version 18.5.0.125 and current with all updates. When I opened IE 8 today, I noticed that the Identity Safe icon was missing from the browser's toolbar. I have right-clicked on the toolbar and it is not giving me any Norton Toolbar options at all. I have also checked to make sure the Norton Toolbar is still set to "Enabled". Internet security settings show Identity Safe is turned on.

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

which Windows OS and Service Pack (if any) do you use? And what architecture (32- or 64-bit)?

And do you run the 32- or the 64-bit version of IE8? Do you have Firefox installed? If yes, does the toolbar works in it?

Thanks.

I am running Window XP, Service Pack 3, 32-bit processor.  I am running IE 8 version 8.0.6001.18702, 128-bit. I do not have Firefox installed on the computer.

Thanks!

If you open IE -> Tools -> Manage Add-Ons, do you see the Norton toolbar on the list? If yes, is it enabled or disabled?

It shows the toolbar is enabled.

If you right click in IE8 on the toolbar area, do you see Norton toolbar checked, or is it unchecked?

If unchecked, what happens if you check it?

Unfortunately, that is part of the problem - the Norton toolbar does not even show up in the list of choices when I right-click on the toolbar.

Can you please try to install and check it Firefox? I would like to know if it is some kind of compatibility issue between you IE plugins, or if somehow the whole feature gone corrupted...
