I am having a problem getting my username and password to fill in on an https login page, my other logins are working fine. Can the Identity Safe Login be used with a Secure website? I don't even get the "Create Login" screen, when I manually fill in the information.
Hi PC_confused,
ID safe can be used with https websites but some websites do cause problems with ID safe, whether http or https. This is because of the way some sites present the login prompt and I've found it is particularly troublesome when the username and password prompts are on different pages.
Can you supply the website address where you see this problem? What happens if you manually go into ID safe options and enter the login for this website? Does NIS then prompt you when you navigate back to the website? After entering the login information manually are you able to manually fill in the login information from the ID safe menu?
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

AllenM - Thank you for your reply. If I go to the website, where it asks for my username and password, copy the address and then go to Identity Safe / Manage Logins and click on New Login and paste that address into the address field then enter my username, I then get a prompt to remember to enter a password. If I then go to that website, to enter my name, nothing seems to happen. If I go to Identity Safe and click on that address, again I go to that page and the cursur just blinks at the username prompt. Nothing gets filled in.
please provide the url you are trying to have idsafe fill in for you so we can check it out.
LanaK - I am trying to get the login for the HP Support Forum to fill in.
Hi PC_confused,
Now I am confused, no pun intended!
You left me a PM with the website you are having problems with. First question I have, is there a reason why you don't want to list that in the forum? There is nothing personally identifiable about publically showing the website you are having trouble with.
But I don't want to post the link myself, I think that should be up to you to do if you choose.
However, I did go ahead and register for an account at the website you provided in PM and after going through that and then navigating back to the link you provided, my ID safe is properly filling in my username/password for me.
Are you always using the link you provided to me in PM to log in with?
This is interesting since it works for me with no problems. I assume you have only one account at this website, correct?
If you have more than one account please check in Network Settings > ID Safe Options and ensure that the Display my Logins each time I visit a page with multiple Logins is checked. Also check Autofill Exclusions in that same section and ensure this website or domain is not listed there for some reason.
Please let me know how it goes.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

AllenM and LanaK - Looks like AllenM found the problem. Somehow I must have entered that site in the Autofill Exclusions page. Once I deleted it from that page and reentered the information, ID login now works. Thanks for the clues to help me solve a minor problem.
Hi PC_confused,
You are most welcome.
Best wishes.
