For now I'll suspend my head scratching...I may need my few remaining hairs for another issue. 
I remain hopeful your dialog with Costco.ca will bear fruit.
On the subject of fruit. My aunt sends me a fruit cake every Holiday season that has no practical use other than maybe a door stop ;-)
