Have used 360v6 successfully since it came out on two different PC's. Linked Identity Safe on both computers thru my Norton Online account and have had no problem for weeks. Now, when logging into Identity Safe it asks me to "Set Up Identity Safe", and create a password. Same occurrence on either PC. Am logged into my Norton Account but if I try to access my Vault online it just hangs on the "Validating Vault Password..." window. Is there a server or database down somewhere?

Welcome Jim,
I cannot say with any degree of authority - - - but - - - - it is the weekend and there may be some maintenance happening. I was able to log in without delay not too long agao. If it's the server that was down , it seems to be up now. If it is a break in the links between you and the server I can't say for sure what's happening nor when it might be fixed.
Sorry I can't be more positive

Hi JimFedorko,
Sorry for the issue you are facing. What is the product version(You can find it in N360 Main UI->Settings->Support->About) you are having now?
Can you try logging out from Norton account and login again to that then, try logging into Online vault.
Do you have backup of Identity safe data(.DAT) format? This will help us to import identity safe data when we create New identity safe(local or Online).
Thanks,
Senthil
Hello,
I am running Norton 360 v6.1.1.8 on both machines. I have no recent .dat backups other than what exists in C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\N360_6.0.1.2\IdentitySafeDataStore\S-1-5-21-3898562256-698963306-3248879257-1000 (similarly on my laptop). I thought that was one advantage of syncing online.
I have logged out of Identity Safe on all machines, logged back in and logged in online and tried to access my vault, still hangs up on validation. Have logged out and attempted to logon only online and still same results.
I did, on my laptop, attempt to re-setup Identity Safe by recreating the same password. That allows me to start Identity Safe on my laptop but no logins are available. Have tried to import the .dat files that reside in the similar location stated above on my laptop but the import does not recognise the files (even with the correct extension) nor will read them when I force in the filename into the import dialog.
I do have some older .npm files but they are comparitively quite old. I can understand that if I did something wrong losing my logins on one machine but I don't understand how I can lose logins on both machines. Any help is appreciated.
Hi JFedorko,
If you have IDDStore2.dat file in following location C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\N360_6.0.1.2\IdentitySafeDataStore\S-1-5-21-3898562256-698963306-3248879257-1000, It means that you have created local Identity safe vault in your system.
Can you try following options,
Option1: Can you try logging into Local with local Idsafe password without logging into Norton account. Once you logged into Identity safe(local), check for the logins which you have created in local.
You can check this while logging into identity safe, Please see the screen shot
If you want to have your logins to Online vault, After logging into Local vault, please export your online vault identity safe data to .DAT format file. (Log into Identity safe(Local) -> Export data). This backup file will be useful in future too.
Then logout from Local vault and log in to Identity safe(Online) after logging into Norton account and import identity safe data using (Identity safe (Online)->Import data) .DAT file which you have exported in Local vault.
Option2: If you have problem in Logging into Local. Follow below steps to import logins to Online vault.
1. Copy the IDDstore.dat file to any other location
2. Login to Online vault , after logging into Norton account
3.Import identity safe data using (Identity safe (Online)->Import data) IDDStore2.DAT(Browse to copied location) and provide the local identity safe password then click OK.
4.Now check for the logins in Online vault
Note:Once you created Online vault for the same Norton account, you can't get the old logins, since its created newly. You need to import logins from backup file(mentioned above)
Thanks,
Senthil
